Is Creative Arts Therapy right for me?

A unique approach for those of you who have tried “everything”. Sometimes, the sitting and talking thing just doesn’t cut it. The therapy I hope to serve you with is a mix of both. Once we establish your goals with therapy, I will design a “course”, if you will - a schedule of sessions to help you reach that goal using what I call “movement”. Often, my clients find that movement quite literally unlocks things hidden within our subconscious that may be blocking us. It is an active form of therapy. I’ll suggest methods that you are comfortable with and we will go at your pace.

I’m Ashley

I approach my work with one goal in mind: your success, your happiness, your joy. Often, we get stuck. I believe when you move your body, you move your mind. Sometimes we try to move forward and move along, but just can’t. You’ve seen it before. You so desperately want to change. You set goals. You are determined. This time will be different. This time I WILL do it. And yet, in no time at all, you’re back to old ways of thinking, living and in the very same place you don’t want to be. It’s not you. It’s your mind. If we haven’t done the work, it’s like trying to walk with an injured leg. You can do it, but it’s going to hurt, it’s going to be slow and painful. Let’s focus on healing and repairing that leg and restoring it to better than it was before.

Movement for the Mind is a Multidimensional Wellness Space uniquely designed to cultivate healing (recovery), growth (improve or optimize), and wellbeing (maintain). Our philosophy is rooted in the mind body connection, which serves as a guide to help foster change and move people towards experiencing their most empowered self. While movement is often solely thought of as the physical act of moving, it also refers to emotion, progression, change, revolution. Hence our theoretical approach is centered around the profound capacity and power movement has to offer. Using an eclectic set of creative strategies, we provide our clients with a personalized approach to move them in the direction of their unique needs, desires, and dreams. We understand that a therapeutic journey is not the place for a one size fits all approach. From traditional talk therapy to the expressive arts therapies, and movement body-based psycho-somatic therapy, we help clients heal from inhibiting mental and emotional wounds.
